Quotation Assumptions
Please read the assumptions on which the quote is being based below.
Neither you nor any others residing with you
or any person with a financial interest in the property to be insured have:
- Ever been convicted of any offence of any nature and or have a
prosecution pending other than in relation to a driving offence.
- Ever been refused insurance or had special terms and conditions
imposed on an insurance policy.
- Ever had any claim made against you/them other than in connection with a motor accident or as being declared as part of this Proposal.
Home Insurance Quote for house I
own & live in:
The Premises:
- Is your main residence and currently occupied solely by you, your partner and/or members of your family.
- Is built entirely with stone, brick or concrete and roofed with slates or tiles or other incombustible materials.
- Is not constructed with a Flat Roof covering a roof area greater than 20% of the overall roof area.
- Has never shown signs of damage which may be attributable to subsidence heave or landslip or is not located in an area which is prone to damage by subsidence heave or landslip.
- Has not previously flooded.
- Is not in an area where there is a history of flood damage.
- Is maintained in a good state of repair and is not undergoing any structural alteration or conversion.
- Is neither a listed building nor the subject of a preservation order and is not a castle, mansion, thatched property, wind and water mill or working farm.
- Is not used in connection with any business or profession other than as a home office that is limited to dealing with paperwork, phone calls and a computer.
- Is not left unoccupied other than for normal daily absences or vacations and in no case for any period exceeding 30 consecutive days in any one year.
Important Security Requirements
- The buildings must be fitted with the following security devices:
- All outside doors must be fitted with morticed* security locks.
* A morticed lock is a lock designed to fit inside a door by means of a 'mortice' (A mortice is woodworking term that describes a hole that has been cut into timber as part of a woodworking joint). Other lock types such as the rim lock or the rim cylinder lock, are designed to fit onto the door surface do not meet our security requirements.
- Whenever the property is left empty:
- All external doors and windows must be closed and fastened.
- All external door locks must be put into operation.
- All keys must be removed from locks and kept in a secure place.
- Any burglar alarm for which we allow a discount on your premium is properly maintained and put into operation.
